I did 30 miles in two trips to the exact same places on the weekend. On monday I did the standard 10 mile loop, and today I did another 15 mile trip.

The weather has taken a turn for the worse, and it’s gotten very cold. I’m having to put on my winter coat, hat, and a pair of gloves to stay comfortable, but even then the area below my waste is only protected by a pair of pants, and that’s resulting in my gootch being nearly frozen by the time I get back home. It’s not good. Hopefully it will warm up soon.

Downloaded a fedora core 5 dvd over night, burned it, booted it, and found that it doesn’t like working. I got on #fedora, and those people told me to check the sha1sum. I did that, and aparently I got some fucked up version that was ‘leaked’ before the official release. So, I’m going to download it from a good location tonight, and hopefully it will work. I’m currently waiting for it to download to my server right now, and I’m getting 662KB/sec. 25% has been downloaded, and it should be up by the time I start the download, which should be at about 4am.

My bass guitar book should be here some time this week, I hope.

yeah, that’s all i have to say.

It is.

I read about it here

the tv guide channel has lost sight of the dream

Filed under: General — mikey @ 3:48 pm

The problem with the TV guide channel is the annoying programming it shows when all it’s viewers want to do is see what is on tv.

Whenever there is an award show, they will stick that awful human being joan rivers on the channel, and they’ll drop the scroller down from 3 rows, to 2, with even smaller text telling all of us what is on.

Why can’t they just go back to giving us 5 rows of shows, with movie previews, etc. in the top?

Or go even further back, with a full screen scroll?

Does anybody actually look to the tv guide channel for entertainment?

If you do, I suggest you go climb a ladder to the top of your house, and jump.

I blame women for the crap they are playing on the tv guide channel. They are the only people who care about entertainment news.

What’s up

Hello Again,

I’ve been listening to a lot of bad religion this week.

I didn’t get a lot of biking done this week, because of the wind. I did bike to downtown orion today. When I got there, I hung out and watched their river.

I ordered a book about the bass guitar on friday.

I talked to justin curtis friday. Justin lost his job, and is now selling drugs. Poor justin.

Last night I had a dream about this girl I knew back in high school. I had this weird smile the whole time. I wonder what that was about.

I’ll probably go out and bike sunday.

I’m waiting for the weather to get better, I have an idea for an extremely long trip across oxford, that would combine two of my usual trips into one. It would probably be 20 something miles in distance, but i’ll bet I could do it if the weather was comfortable enough.

That’s all i have to say.

TV

you should watch these shows, because they aren’t very popular right now, and they are excellent shows.

It takes a Thief
5:00PM - Discovery Channel
Two ex-thieves host the show. On each episode, they’ll drive through a neighborhood, pick out a house, tell the home owners what they want to do. After the home owner agrees, the home owners, and one of the thieves walk into a van to watch cameras of the inside the house, while one of the robbers breaks into the house, breaks a lot of stuff, and takes a bunch of stuff. After that, he gives all their stuff back, and they do a security makeover.

Cash Cab
6:00PM - Discovery Channel
Random people get into a taxi cab, and discover they are on a gameshow. For the length of their trip, the driver asks them questions, and they win money for each question they answer. If they get 3 questions wrong, they are kicked out, and they lose all their money. If they make it to their destination, they have a choice to go double-or-nothing on a video bonus question, or walk away with the money they won answering questions.

Third Watch
A&E - 4:00AM (probably on at another time, but i don’t know when)
Cop show that’s actually interesting.

These shows are damn good, people. Watch them.

Being known

Filed under: A Glimpse into The Madness — mikey @ 3:40 am

The number of people I know if supersceded by the number of people that know me.

Almost any time I go out, someone will say “hey mikey”, and seconds later I will be asking them who they are, and any time I ask them who they are, they tell me who i am, and act like I’m supposed to know them.

Perhaps I have a bad memory, and I was once best friends with all of these people.

Throughout the highschool years, I was known as the fat guy who was funny, sometimes annoying, and knowledgable of computers. They would often ask me how to get past the school’s filtering proxy, and I always told them to just change the proxy in internet options.

I don’t know. I’ve been meaning to find out where kids my age hangout. I haven’t seen any of them at the bar. Well, that’s not true. I saw one girl who I knew, working at the bar.

That was a suprising incident. In high school, she was a really polite religious girl. Then I went to the bar, and she was wearing a low cut shirt, serving drinks. She had just gotten the job, and wasn’t completely familiar with the enviroment. She had to write up a cheat sheet to figure out how to make certain drinks, but she didn’t have much trouble pouring shots for me.

Other than her, I haven’t met many people in their early 20s at the bar. Most of them go to parties, because some of their friends are underage. Maybe We’ll all meetup at the bar some time when we’re all in our 30s.

That’s all I have to say. Laterios, People.

come on people now

i finally got freebsd running here on a second hard drive.

running fluxbox, with gaim, evolution, and firefox.. it took a very long time to get it all working.

i still have to figure out what’s wrong with my secondary music hard drive.

%mount -t ntfs /dev/ad3s1 /sec
mount_ntfs: /dev/ad3s1: Input/output error

I wonder what’s wrong with it…

nobody’s answered on #freebsd since i asked 80 seconds ago…

i still have to recompile the kernel for sound support, although i’m not sure if my sound card’s supported.

glad i can get online on it.. i had to update modem firmware to fix some wacky dhcp problem.

it’s gotten very cold outside.

that’s all i have for you.
