Look at everything she’s doing. That way, if they need to move us out of the ground in order to expand an airport, they’ll have to see our rotting/rotten bodies, and we’ll all have a good laugh as we watch them gag from whatever dimension of the afterlife we are stuck into at that point.

A few nights ago I didn’t have anything to do, and I got another application for Mike P. Bailey from capital one in my mailbox. So, I mustered up some coherent thought, and dialed them to be greeted by this somewhat southern 48 year old hag who sounded like she’s been chain smoking daily for the past 10 years.

I explained to them how the last call went down. How I gave cingular a fake name 3 years ago at my old address, and had called AT&T giving them information related to my real address, and my home address, and had been told that both accounts were out of their solicitation databases, and how i’d somehow started to receive applications for both mike p. bailey and paul m. bailey in my mailbox, and how no other company has records for mike p. bailey in their database except for AT&T.

Well, this woman told me straight away that AT&T never sells information to other companies. I argued that it was impossible for capital one to think mike p. bailey lives here as AT&T is the only company that has that name and this address. She then told me about how she’s been an AT&T customer for the past 30 years, and had never had any issues with them. I then began to say “i deserve compensation for this” and she immediately broke in with “wohh wohh wohh”, and actually, litterally told me, and I quote “We don’t know that!”. Can you believe that shit? The woman almost explicitly called me a liar. I never gave a single company on this planet the name of Mike p. bailey, how else could capital one make the connection between that name, and this address, without getting that information from AT&T? What the hell is this shit? AT&T just lied to me, and now i’m getting two applications per mail dropoff from random companies because AT&T wanted to make a buck off me.

It’s bad enough that they’re kicking my ass with this $60/month phone bill, and also recording my phone calls to give them to the government whenever they hint at the idea. Do they really need to butcher me threefold with this blatant abuse of my account data?

back in 2003 I was living in oxford, michigan, and I didn’t have a cell phone. So, I went up town to the bank, got $500 out, and proceeded to go to my local cingular dealer where I bought a Nokia phone that was like $400, on a prepaid plan because i didn’t want to have any bills.

While signing up for the account, i made sure to use a fake name, so I picked out a spin on my name, Mike P. bailey, but I also gave them my actual address, in case anything important happened with the account, and they needed to contact me.

Well, this all went through, and the phone ended up breaking, with absolutely no support from nokia, so I just let the prepaid account go, and never touched it. Then after a couple more months, I started getting mail addressed to Mike P. Bailey at my house, credit card applications and such. I never got into any of that, and just threw away the mail whenever i got it.

In june of this year, I ended up moving away from michigan, and was still recieving mail. After a couple of months I realized this was still happening, so I called up AT&T who bought cingular some time ago, and asked if they could just delete the mike p. bailey account. During this call, I gave AT&T my actual wireless account info, because i already had an account with them for my iphone (which they’re fucking raping me with). Well, they told me they couldn’t delete the account, but they could put my information into their ‘do not send offers’ database. “Fine, super, thank you!” I said, and happily hung up.

And I did remain happy up until yesterday afternoon, when I recieved two credit card applications from capital one: one addressed to Paul M. bailey, and one for Mike P. Bailey.

It seems that AT&T not only lied to my face, but also violated my privacy. Isn’t this kind of illegal?

I thought I’d break in with some happy news that I discovered in my schedule.

1) I am going to see the brokedowns on August 10th, and am looking forward to seeing them. I’ve been listening to them since before I moved to chicago, and can’t wait to see them live.

2) I am going to see turbonegro on the 19th of September. I’ve been a fan of turbonegro for a few years now, since first listening to them on some random compilation.

3) I won’t have to work Thanksgiving, so I’ll be able to go back home to see einen family, and get really messed up on turkey. However, I will have to be back to chicago by the 25th of November to get back to work.

4) I won’t have to work Christmas either, which is great, because the family had really been yelling at me to get back home for that holiday. But, I’m going to have to be on a train back to Chicago the very next day so I’ll be able to work the night of the 27th.

I’m not sure if Amtrak will schedule runs for the day after Christmas, and that has me a little bit worried. However, pending unavailable trains on the 26th, and coworkers attempting to bribe me into working, I should have a pretty kickass schedule for the rest of the year.

Hi Everyone,
I’m still alive here in the big city. During my 4 days off the following things happened:

1) I visited the taste of chicago on the second day, third, and fourth days. There, and saw some music acts, and had a little bit of food. I recently gave up meat, and most of the food there wasn’t vegetarian friendly, but I did have some pizza that was pretty good. Additionally, there were a lot of pretty girls, and I even got to talk with a few of them.

2) Our third roommate moved in. Her name’s allison. She’s about 32 years old, kinda attractive, and pretty liberal/friendly, so I’m pretty cool with her. Additionally, She seems to be able to tolerate the whole place, and hasn’t tried to convert the place into an oprah shrine, so that’s pretty cool.

3) I got some new shoes because my other ones were wearing out because I walk a lot.

4) I’m probably going to buy a new computer around the 15th of this month when I’ll have a lot of money to spend on one.

5) Work is still lovely. Having a challenging job is a lot of fun, but sometimes the idea of not fulfilling the job requirements and being fired, and subsequently homelessified sends me into an anxiety attack which DOES NOT EQUAL A GOOD TIME

but thankfully, they seem happy with my work, We’re actually going to be opening up our new datacenter space this month. We have a few rows of cabinets setup right now. Our plans with the area are pretty awesome, and this should skyrocket us into a spot as one of the top colo companies in Chicago, or possibly the whole entire country.

A lot of stuff has happened since the last time I updated, and I really don’t want to embark on all of it, so here’s a brief description of things:

- Moved to chicago
- Lived with boss for a few weeks while I searched for an apartment
- Had a lot of encounters with the homeless
- got mugged for $10 by a couple of crackheads
- learned how to deal with the homeless, and now ignore them any time they walk up to me
- I Still have a scar above my eyebrow from when I fell into this rock while i was drunk while I was living back in michigan
- Work has been great. I’m enjoying my job doing tech support from 9pm to 9am, 4 days on, 4 days off here at the datacenter
- I got an apartment in the bridgeport area of chicago. It’s $600/month, furnished with utilities, living with this french CS student named Dan. We’re also getting a third roommate on the 1st of July, a girl named Allison. I think she’s a student too.
- I don’t have a computer at my apartment. We do have free wireless internet, but I can’t use it without a computer and a wireless card.
- Living is pretty expensive. So far, I’ve had enough money to live, but things are very expensive. I have found a couple of bars in my neighborhood that are very cheap though, but the uptown bars and restaurants are pretty expensive.
- Having no access to porn in my private time is driving me insane. Combine that with the fact that I’m not getting laid at all, I’m slipping back into depression.
- I’ve made a few friends in the area. The other night I hung out with my neighbors. They’re mostly my age, and have kids. They introduced me to a couple of their friends. Maybe networking with them and their friends will get me laid.
- I’ve ate too much pizza
- Last night I made my first meal, rigatoni with tomato and basil sauce. It was good.

and that’s about it. I think i’ll start updating my blog more often, since I now have a life to write about.
