Oh, hello…

Life has been pretty good.

Last weekend I went for a job interview in chicago, and was hired. I start on the 7th of june. Before that happens, I need to move there. I’ve been searching craigslist for apartments, and have narrowed it down to either a $450 townhouse with this 35 year old cop in training, or a $1550 1br condo by myself. I’m leaning in the direction of the condo, because the location is really good. I was previously looking at $650/month sublet, but they picked another buyer.

Yesterday I got high with victoria. She made spaghetti for dinner, and we went to see hot fuzz at the theater a couple of blocks away. She’s fixing to move away to portland around the same time I’ll be moving to chicago. It’ll be sad to part ways.

The family is finally settling with the idea of me moving away. I talked to a couple of other family members today, and they seemed to approve. I still have to go visit my mom’s-side grandmother later this week to let her know.

My work with axishost is done. I might have some future projects in the future, but for now my sights are set on the new company I’ll be working for.

I bought some new shoes. Who knew Dr. Scholl’s made such awesome shoes? These things are comfortable as fuck, good looking, and they were only $60.

My bike finally got fixed today. It was put out of commission several weeks ago when i noticed an insane problem in my rear wheel. I did about 19 miles tonight, and plan to do at least 80 more before I leave the state. Chicago was ranked as one of the most cyclist-friendly cities in america. Hopefully the statistic doesn’t break when I move there.

I managed to drop 5 pounds while my bike was out of comission. This was accomplished by walking 4 - 8 miles every day.

oh yeah

i’m going to chicago this weekend for a job interview.

if they hire me, i’ll be moving there.

found a nice little place only 3 blocks from the building. $650/month, living with 3 other people.

hopefully it works out.

Today was a pretty bad day.

Not a whole lot to talk about. Just feeling down since the snow came back.

I walked 6 miles to town and through oxford. That was okay.

I picked up a weekly routine of blowing like $50 per weekend bar hopping. This lasted for about 4 weeks, but i’m finding that i’m spending way too much money. So, i’m giving that up for a while.

The weather bothers me. Nothing looks good. That makes picture taking very difficult, because i only like taking pictures of pretty things.

Well that’s all for now. About 20 pounds to go in weight loss… see ya.

Peter came over today asking for help with his laptop. He was complaining that he needed a cd key for office 2003. I couldn’t find one, so we went the long route and downloaded office 2007 for him.

While we waited for the download, we just sat around and had a chat. I noticed early on that he had taken a little glance at my ipod. I ignored it, and figured he was just checking it out to compare it to the one he has at home.

Then I remembered that I needed $5 to send a shirt back to LA for a return. So, I asked peter for $5. He said he didn’t have on him, but he would go to the ATM to get it. I said “ohh, forget it.” then he insisted, and left.

As he left, i noticed he started driving towards his house, instead of the ATM location. I then looked up and noticed my ipod was gone. He had left his laptop sitting there on my desk, so he had no choice but to come back. Sure enough, he returned 15 minutes later.

As he entered the door, I put on my serious voice and asked him where my ipod was;

Mikey: Where is my ipod peter?
Peter: Ohh, you mean this one? (pulls ipod out of pocket)
Mikey: Why is my ipod in your pocket peter?
Peter: Ohh, I just wanted to check it out.
Mikey: I didn’t tell you you could have it.
Peter: ohh, it’s no big deal. Here man, here’s your ipod (handing me an ipod)
Mikey: (looking over ipod, it’s extremely scratched up, the screen is extremely messed up, and it’s filled with a lot of rap music that i would never listen to, not even if you paid me) This isn’t my ipod peter. Can you go get my ipod please?
Peter: Sure man, oh wait, I don’t have an ipod. What would I need an ipod for? my phone has a cell phone camera
Mikey: You have an ipod. I saw it the last time I was at your house. You told me it had a dead battery.
Peter: What? When did you see my ipod? I don’t have an ipod
Mikey: yes you do peter. Can you go get my ipod?
Peter: (stands there for 3 minutes, silently looking at his ipod)
Mikey: Go get my ipod.
Peter: Okay

Another 10 minutes pass. Laptop is still on my desk, I’m happy with how i’m handling the situation. Peter finally returns.

Mikey: Do you have my ipod?
Peter: yeah man, I’m sorry. (handing me ipod)
Mikey: Why does my screen turn on?
Peter: ohh, the battery isn’t charged
Mikey: (plugging in portable charger), looks like you’re right.
Peter: Look man, I’m really sorry. i wanted to give you this (hands me some $20 watch, probably also stolen). It needs some batteries, but It is my favorite watch.
Mikey: That’s great. Thanks. You can leave now
Peter: What? What do you mean?
Mikey: I’m not going to fix your computer for you. You tried to rob me.
Peter: Uhhh, uhhh, uhh, (he needs this fix for his college class which is in a few hours)
Mikey: I’ll tell you what, I’ll do this if you give me another $10.
Peter: (Throws $10 and other $5 onto desk)
Mikey: Thanks peter.
Peter: (10 minutes worth of awkward silence)
Mikey: You know, everyone in high school knew you were a liar.
Peter: (shell shocked)

Peter didn’t talk for the rest of the trip. I did the 15 minutes worth of work, and his computer now has office 2007. It was a pretty nice adventure. I started the day with no money, and now I have $15, enough to buy the packaging stuff to send my shirt return back. If it weren’t for peter, I would have no money now.

I told the family about it, and they were pretty livid. I had already decided to ban him from the house, and they reinforced it.

I’m pretty happy.

Good Evening,

This has been a pretty boring week. I put an application into the local rite-aid last Saturday, didn’t receive a call all week, called Friday to see if they went through the applications yet, they said that they will be going through the applications Monday, and scheduling interviews. So, I’ll probably have an interview with them Monday or Tuesday.

this song is pretty sweet for being turkish. I think the writer is too dead to go after me for giving the mp3 away. Anyway, it’s an excellent song, and all of you should download it.

That’s all for now. Too cold for typing.

flies ruin sleep.

got kept up this morning by a god damn fly who kept landing on my face, and buzzing in my ear. I tried murdering it a few times, but he kept dodging my hands.

That fly has continued to bother me and the cats all day.

In other news, I went out picture taking this evening. Here’s a decent photo that came from that trip: [clickity].

Saw some ducks. Had a plate of pasta for dinner.

Wednesday I got lost, and ended up riding for about 20 miles. Nobody seems to care about that, so I won’t speak of it.

Thursday i just did 12 miles.

That’s all i have.

“NEVER FORGET”

Filed under: A Glimpse into The Madness, General, The Internet — mikey @ 2:53 am

I really don’t like it when people say that. We should try to forget it. The more you dwell on it, the more angry / sad you get. How long did it take before we quit hating the japanese for bombing pearl harbor?

My life.. Biking a lot. Haven’t got the camera out due to rain concerns. Will be going out to addison oaks this week to get pictures of the dad’s new trail.

I’ve been meaning to break onto the land of the nearby gravel pit to get some industrial-type photos of their equipment. Trouble is, they have offices there, and guards regularly patrol the area. So, I’d have to get out there on the weekend. Another problem, the last time I tried going over there, I spotted a guard, and that was on a sunday. I could probably get out there if I entered from the south, and traveled east. One of the biggest problems with the land is there’s a gigantic fuckin’ lake between the equipment, and the main road. So, if I had to run, I would have to speed as fast as I could several miles, and they would probably have pleanty of time to get police to the gate.

Well.. that’s all I have.

Fall is coming up. that’s when the real fun comes to internet.

The davinci code just lost some big credibility points

Plans

Filed under: General, Weight Loss — mikey @ 7:15 pm

So, the wedding trip is planned.

Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday night: Don’t sleep. This way I can sleep while spending the night without internets at grandma’s house.

Wednesday night - dad drops me and mom off at grandma’s house. We aren’t goign to keep our cars at grandma’s because she lives in the bad part of pontiac, and we don’t want our car to get stolen.

Thursday Morning: Start Trip in grandma’s really nice car. Bring ipod along for entertainment.

Thursday I think: Arrive at my uncle’s house in tennesee.

Friday I think: I don’t know if we’re going in grandma’s car, or my uncle’s van. But, we’re continuing down to georgia

Friday or saturday: Get hotel or motel or whatever in georgia

Sunday i think: The mistake… I mean, wedding :|

I’m pretty much clueless about everything that happens outside of the place i’m sitting.

In other news, rain prevented me from biking today. ffffffffffffffffffff

and that’s all i have.

Last night I went to my blog to see if there were comments, and it hung at “waiting for imikey.com…”.

So, I waited for a while, and then ctrl+f5′d . It then hung at “connecting to imikey.com…”

Then it timed out.

I tried several times throughout the night, but it never came up. I checked my MSN list for da host; JP, but he was gone.

So then it was down all night until morning when JP got to the computer and was able to fix it.

This is the second time or third time this has happend, and it’s bugging me. So, I’m thinking about packing up the whole thing, and moving it to my dedicated server.

What do you peeps think?

/me hopes aussie bob reads this post, and hooks me up on one of his super hot hosting servers
